Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Bad Company 2 on Ps3 is not as good as PC. That does not mean to say it isn’t good. The controls take a few tries to get the hang of (R2 is knife and L2 is grenade) and servers were quite quiet, but now, in the anticipation of BF3, my guess is that people who originally didn’t give Battlefield a second thought are now buying BC 2 to see if the gameplay is good. This has led to a sudden explosion of activity, and now the game is really enjoyable. Although Dice spend more time on the PC version, the second best is not something complain about.

well, since I have already written a review on BC 2, there really isn’t much I can say apart from the differences in technique and actual gameplay. Since quite a lot of the servers are made up of ‘COD Players’ trying it out, there is an obvious change in the gameplay from PC. There is a quite noticeable increase in snipers, which is one of the most frustrating things about this game on the PS3, and a LOT of campers. Most people I talk to think this is the usual gameplay, whereas it’s just everyone else thinking they can get away with it. And one last thing. When I tried Squad Rush, I didn’t get one shot out of my gun. This was because of the enemy squad, standing next to the spawn point, spawn killing, endlessly.

Apart from these disappointing notes, the game is really good, and a lot of fun. I would recommend it, definitely, apart from the fact that BF3 is a month away, and that will be so much better! It’s not much, but there is not really much else to say. Only get this, though, if your computer won’t run it, because BC 2 is way better on PC. Anyway, my rating for BC 2 on the PS3 is 9/10. Enjoy!

Battlefield 3 – 27/6/2011

This is coming out in late October, and is the sequel to Battlefield 2, NOT Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Dice have developed a whole new gaming engine for BF3, called Frostbite 2, and graphics seen from gameplay footage are rivaling that of real life:

Battlefield 3 Comparison

From the videos I have seen, it looks pretty awesome, and here is what we know so far:

-64 player games for PC, but only 24 for console

-There will be 4 different classes, Assault, Engineer, Support, and Recon

-The return of jets

-The return of prone, but without dolphin dive

-Co-op Campaign

This is most of the important stuff covered, but you can look around to find more info. BF3 is being developed more of a completely new game, rather than a sequel, unlike MW3, which look alright, but it’s just more of the same stuff. Dice are also making this game better on PC, and putting more effort into the PC, rather than console. With PC, players get 64 player game modes, whereas on console this drops to 24. With most of their games, PC has been the main focus, but BF3 will definitely more users to the PC side of things.

Take a look on YouTube, and see for yourself, but this game looks freaking awesome, and I, along with countless other people, are really looking forward to the release.

Here is the gameplay from the Battlefield 3 Multiplayer, but check out the Thunder Run mission and the 12 minute gameplay trailer.

Burnout Paradise

Burnout Paradise is my personal favourite motor sport game. You get insanely fast bikes as well as 75 or so burnout cars to roam around a massive island with. You can buy a bonus island (big surf island) on the playstationstore which is definitely worth it with unbelievably high mega jumps and ramps; you get exclusive vehicles as well.

You can do 4 different types of challenges:
Race-race against 7 other racers, sometimes 1 other.
Road rage-take-down the target number of opponents in the alotted time.
Marked man-survive a beating by 3 muscle cars while you get to a destination.
Stunt run-chain together awesome stunts and tricks to get a high score.
Burning route-each car has 1 burning route in which you have to reach a destination in given time, you get an upgraded version of that car when completed.
Midnight ride-reach your destination within the time limit at night time (only for bikes).
Burning ride-reach your destination within the time limit in the day time (only for bikes).

Every single road in paradise city has a road rule. You have to do 2 things:
1)Get a record time driving down each road.
2)Press R1 and L1 at the same time to enter a showtime where you bust your car up while crashing into other vehicles and billboards causing masses of destruction.

For bike road rules you just have to get a record time on each road during day and at night. Luckily you can change the daytime settings when you want.

Overall Burnout Paradise is a pretty decent game and would take you forever to do every single thing on it. It’s a very old game now so you’d probably be able to get it for about £13 on amazon.

Assassins Creed: Brotherhood

AC: Brotherhood is much like AC: 2; it is fun, versatile, and there is a lot to keep you occupied. But in Brotherhood, there is a multiplayer option, which is a first for Assassins Creed. Making multiplayer for Assassins Creed must have taken a lot of thinking thinking, but they certainly pulled it off.

The idea of you having to hunt down another player, while you are being hunted yourself is genius. It stops players being too laid back, because if you are too slow, your target will get away, and you will be killed by your hunter. It’s a great idea, and I really enjoyed it.

The campaign, or main story, is different. It doesn’t differ that much from AC: 2. It needs to change, because otherwise gamers will get bored too quickly.
